Community Development
Supporting Myanmar citizens and the communities we work in is a fundamental value of Supreme Group. While we support many fundamental services to support our communities we also provide support and services to assist rural communities development. To support this mission, contributions and donations have varied according to need;
- Village road construction and repairs
- Construction of Jetty in Tha Baw Kan Village
- Building wells in Villages
- Human Rights Ceremony in Pathein
- Street solar lamps for Villages
- Donations to Monasteries and Traditional Festivals
Education
Supreme Group believes in fostering local capacity and education that will be needed for the development of Myanmar’s economy and we support this mission through helping educational facilities and providing economic assistance to students in need.
To support this mission, contributions and donations have varied according to need;
- School renovations in Phone Soe Village,
- Built libraries in Jade Lat Village, Ayeyarwady and Taung Boh Gyi Village Inle, Shan State
- Replacing school roof in Ma Gyee Sin,
- Projects that encourage education such as the Pathein children’s book fair and an educational fair.
Emergencies
During emergencies and natural disasters, Supreme Group has always been there to support the local communities across Myanmar.
After Cyclone Nargis in 2008, we provided vehicles and heavy equipment for the cleaning and resettlement of Yangon. We donated water treatment systems including a water treatment system with a 5000 litre/hour capacity to Hainggyi Island and a 10,000 litre/hour capacity water to the Yangon City Development Committee.
We have made financial and physical donations to areas affected by flooding, including provided rice seeds for the flooded areas in Ayeyarwaddy Region and Bago Region and donated vegetable seeds and clean water to agriculture villagers in Ayeyarwaddy Region.
In the COVID-19 prevention, control and restoration processes, timely response and cooperation are essential to ensure the safety and well-being of the citizens. Supreme Group and joint ventures have been working together with respective regional governments and organizations to support the most essential sectors in the country.
To date, we have contributed about 400 million MMK all over the country, namely to the following regions and states: Yangon, Mandalay, Ayeyarwaddy, Tanintharyi, Magway, Kayin, Rakhine, and Chin. Donation items varied according to need from medical equipment such as ventilators, PPE (personal protective equipment), facemasks, medical goggles, infrared thermometers, sanitizer, disinfectant, and medicine to food donations for citizens in need.
Health
Believing that giving should come in many forms, we host an annual Blood drive, encouraging the Supreme Group family and our partners to donate.
We have also provided financial support to the Ministry of Health and Sports, hospitals and health clinics in need across the country including the donation of the 16 bed Hospital for Bawlae Village, Htandapin Township, Yangon.
Livelihoods
We strongly believes that education is the key to improving the livelihood of the farmers. BioTech provides constant technical assistance and support to the farmers both online, through Facebook group, messaging and Viber, and in person through farmer meetings and site visits.
Since 2016, we have set up demonstration plots of more than 100 acres for rice, beans and pulses, sesame, vegetables and orchards to further enhance our program. Through this practical means, we are not only able to show the farmers the effectiveness of both organic and non-organic fertilizers but also to inculcate in them that the use of beneficial microbes is not only environmentally friendly but also of great benefit to their soil.
We partner with vocational schools in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry to train interested citizens to become electrical and civil professionals. To support our mission to hire locally, students will be given priority for job offers during the construction and operation period of our projects. We also provide university scholarships for students from project areas interested in the engineering and power sector.
Supreme Group believes supporting the establishment of small businesses and increasing entrepreneurs is a key way to assist living standards and the country’s development.
To aid economic development, a microfinance program is being established with local microfinance firms to provide financial support to small businesses and new enterprises.
We will cooperate with regional authorities and the community on the best ways to support small enterprises and entrepreneurs through microfinance loans and ensure any profits made by loans are used for additional regional development.
